IOC employees donate $5,400 for Haïti
(Canada) Montréal, Sept-Îles, Labrador City, February 12, 2009 – One month after the tragic events in Haïti, IOC employees in Labrador City, Sept-Iles and Montreal have collected the sum of $5,400 in aid for the victims.
“The families and friends of some of our colleagues were affected by this earthquake. We have therefore set up a mechanism to allow employees who want to do so, to give,” says Michel Filion, Director of Communications and External Relations. This amount comes on top of the $250,000 donated directly by the Rio Tinto Group.
This amount will be transmitted today to the Red Cross, which is doing extraordinary work in Haïti.
