Summer Student Employment

The Iron Ore Company of Canada is seeking applications from post-secondary students for the Student Employment Program 2024 in Labrador City. We are seeking applications for students to work in our mine, plant & railway facilities.
 

Requirements

- Students must have been a full time student at a post secondary institution in the past two semesters and be returning to a full-time program at a post-secondary educational institution.
 
- Students must be available to work the entire summer period from the selected start date on the Student Verification Form until August 27, 2024.
 
- Students that are being considered for safety sensitive roles must successfully complete the substance abuse testing as well as fitness testing requirements for summer employment.
 

General Information

- Interested students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from Labrador City as well as their own accommodations

- Students must indicate which position they wish to be considered for.
 

How do students apply?

Applications must be submitted no later than March 19, 2024.
 

What documentation is required?

Please apply via email with a resume, application form, student declaration form, a scanned copy (front and back) of your Driver’s License, and declaration of criminal history form by March 19, 2024.

In addition, a Student Verification Form must be completed and stamped by your registrar’s office and returned to IOC. Selected students will have until July 1, 2024 to provide the official version of this document to IOC at

 studentrecruitment@riotinto.com


Students failing to provide both forms (application form and signed/stamped student verification form) will not be eligible for summer employment.
